80th Birthday Party for
L. Douglas Waldorf
On the 22nd of February 2007, L. Douglas Waldorf turned 80. His family hosted a party for him on the 3 March 2007.
Doug Waldorf's daughter, Mary Kathryn Waldorf, made a DVD of Doug Waldorf's life
for his family and friends to view while at the party.
Doug Waldorf's daughter, Debra Waldorf Norris, decorated his cake to reflect
all the facets and talents of Doug's life.
Perhaps as you browse through the website, you can identify the items on the cake as they reflect the elements of L. Douglas Waldorf's life. There are several that are not identifiable unless you know Doug.
The money represents the time he worked in a bank. The Christmas trees represent the years he sold Christmas trees. And the tractor represents the tractor used at Skicoak Living Museum to pull the trailor to and from the museum site to set up the exhibits every day, as well as the tractor his grandchildren were able to drive as they got old/big enough to drive on his farms in Georgia. The saddle represents not only his love of horses and trick riding, but also his years repairing saddles in Virginia Beach, VA.
And the lantern represents the lantern purchased on the night of his birth by his future father-in-law.
