First in The LDS Fireside Lecture Series Legend of the White God in Virginia and Other Histories.
FINALLY! AFTER 30 YEARS, AND A MULTITUDE OF REQUESTS! NOW available on DVD by popular demand; the same LDS Fireside Talks given by L. Douglas Waldorf for over 30 years all across America. "Virginia" refers not to just the state of Virginia as we know it today, but rather to the "New Found Land of Virginia", named Virginia after the Virgin Queen of England, as the English began their exploration and colonization of the New World with the expedition of 1584. The English explorers, as well as the French and Spanish explorers, all had similar experiences as they first met the native people of "Virginia". The explorers found each group of native people had a legend of a White God who had come to them, taught them His peace religion, healed their sick and lame, and much more. Find out more about this White God Legend of the Native American people as recorded in the history of the "New World of Virginia". Did Jesus Christ ever visit the American Continent? Where is the evidence? It's in the archives of Spanish, English, and French explorers, in our libraries and museums, our state and national parks, on private property and in the artifact collections of hundreds of private individuals. This evidence is presented in detail in the DVD of L. Douglas Waldorf's Fireside Talk "The Legend of the White God in Virginia and Other Histories". Theories and beliefs may sound interesting, but truth and facts can never be disputed. Thomas Hariot, famous British scientist, who came to the coast of what is now North Carolina in the expedition of 1584, published a book in England in 1588 in which he reported that the native people of that region thought that the English explorers were "men of an old generation, many years past, who had risen again to immortality", and that many more of them would descend from the sky. Thomas Hariot reported that the people of Roanoak believed that their chiefs became Gods after they died, and so to keep their God's near them, the Roanoak's would carve their dead chief's faces into posts and put them in their sacred circle, called a "Quioccosan," (a reproduction of the "Quioccosan" was done at Roanoak Indian Village and is featured on the cover of the DVD.) Find out more of what Thomas Hariot reported of the North Carolina Indians' religious beliefs in the DVD of L. Douglas Waldorf's Fireside Talk The Legend of the White God in Virginia and Other Histories. Do you know these fascinating details of history?? Take our History Quickie Quiz; click here now! It was because of the White God Legend the explorers encountered again and again. IT'S HISTORY! NOT FABLE!
